Web
Site Statistics for 2006
This
is the sites fourth year of operation, again solid growth in overall traffic was
experienced in 2006 over 2005, mainly (again) on the back of the change in the
EU Automotive EMC Directive (2004/104/EC) which became law in Europe in July.
As with 2005 hit rates
failed to be sustained in the latter half of the year but the total numbers are still up
on the 2005 figures. Overall
hit rates are up by 9% from an average 26,500 per month for 2005 to just
over 29,000 per month for 2006, resulting in 349,000 hits in 2006. Hits

success of the site can be seen to be not solely dependant on the hosting of the
EU Automotive EMC Directive, as although that has helped increase the hits to
the Standards pages by over 400%, the Technical Papers pages are still the most
used page and the Conference had a large increase this year and hight hits have
been sustained into the later half of the year (i.e. after the event itself). Even
the lesser used pages of Design, Test, Equipment and Links is increased over
2005.

It is still gratifying to finally exceed 1000 hits per weekday average over the year, but unfortunate we couldn't make this figure with the weekends included.
Prospects for 2007
The belief of the Automotive EMC Network members is that we may now have peaked for web traffic. Certainly the tail off in late 2006 was significant. It is felt that now the EU Automotive EMC Directive is launched and in the public domain there will be a reduced daily site traffic going forward but we expect an annual hit rate of 250,000 to be sustainable for the long term..
We are always looking at ways of improving the site and if you have any ideas please forward to webmaster@autoemc.net.
